Yay, new friends!!

I always worry about the ettiquite with friending memes. Is that weird?? Like, if you reply to somebody, should you friend them straight off or wait for them to say "yeah, let's be friends"? Because I think it's more polite to wait, but then I worry that I'll forget who the person is and why I wanted to be friends with them or something.

I also find this sort of thing really interesting, in that, well, what makes you pick certain people from all the pages and pages of comments? It seems like such a judgemental thing, kind of, but you can't go and friend everyone who has the same interests as you, or you'd be reading to like skip 5000 every day when you checked your flist. I kind of pick out people based on funniness, I guess. And sometimes I friend people based on their icons or gifs or whatever. And if I'm not sure based on their comment, I'll sometimes go look at their journal.

LOL, this is possibly not interesting to anybody else, but I always worry that maybe there's some really awesome people out there and I'm passing them over just because they're not good at pimping themselves or whatever. It's very stressful!!! XP

Of course, I should probably concentrate on being a better LJ friend to all you awesome people before I go making a bunch of new friends anyway.

In other news, I have turkish delight and that is awesome!!

i think these are so much like matchmaking sessions, you know? i usually make friends because of fic, and it's the first time i'm doing something so bold like this, and i'm actually really nervous about it - what if i don't like my new friends? to be honest, i am really, really afraid. XD

he's in Trinity doing his foundational year. unimelb next year, i guess?

i'm actually in RMIT. XD but i'm not there physically... we just do the degree in singapore.

Ah, I'm at La Trobe, because it's close to my house. XP Your brother must be smart if he's going to Trinity and then Melb!! You can be in Singapore and do a degree through RMIT?? That's awesome! My sister went to RMIT. XD

ahhh i see. my brother (okay, we aren't related by blood or marriage, we're actually part of a very close group of friends that i've known for a long long time and we've established ourselves as close as family XD) didn't do very well for his 'A' levels and his parents decided to send him to trinity. but he's really smart - i think he didn't do very well because of the route he chose. he shouldn't have done 'A's i guess. in any case he's there mainly because his parents can afford it, sounds bad, i know :P but he's a very responsible guy we're actually all very sure he'll do well there. he just lacked the opportunity here. :\

what do you study in La Trobe? and you're older than i am, right? you can't be much older, can you? if you're still doing uni. ;)
