I have been watching stuff. And stuff.
Jun. 10th, 2010 09:09 am* Watched the Nodame movie last night. WTF, half of it was flashbacks and it seemed like it was mainly just a really long preview for the new movie, but whatevs, Hiroshi Tamaki's awesome conducting faces made it worth it and Ueno Juri was as adorable as ever.
* Finished watching Hong Gil Dong. I loved it a ridiculous amount. I loved the main characters, and how even the bad characters I could sympathise with, it was very well done. Jang Geun Seok is ridiculously pretty. How can a man be that pretty, it's not right. His lips, surely they are not natural?? I think his eyes aren't symmetrical though, so that makes me feel a little better.
I thought the love triangle aspect of it was well done, nothing annoys me more than when the girl character wavers or seems to be using the guy who is unrequitedly in love with her, but Yi Nok was just so adorably clueless that it worked, and you never had any doubt that it was Gil Dong that she loved. (And understandably so, as Kang Ji Hwan was so manly and hot!!) But it still made you feel really bad for poor (incredibly pretty) Chang Hui!! The Gil Dong/Yi Nok love story was really freaking great, it broke my heart about 100 times, especially when she thought he'd died, and then when she saw him again and thought she was dreaming. It started off so sweet and cute and then ended up like it did, I really thought it was perfect.
The character progression was really good in it too, even with the minor characters, like the hot chick and the guy with one-ball, and the hot guard of Chang Hui's. I really thought the evolution of the Gil Dong character was brilliant, how his circumstances changed him from this lazy ruffian type into a hero who would do anything to protect his cause. I was entirely won over by him.
I actually thought everything about the writing was top notch up until about episode 18 or so. I mean, I can understand the need for all the political stuff and so on, but it seemed to get a little convoluted. And the ending bugged me. I don't mean that they died, that was fine and it seemed realistic and all, it was more, wtf why does Chang Hui need to attack them at all, just let it go, buddy!! It kind of made it seem like everything that had happened up until that point was for nothing. Don't give me all this "the story will live on in our hearts" business, because I'm not buying it!! I mean, I know nothing about the original story, and maybe that's how that ended too but it still seemed stupid and like a plot-contrivance to make a neat ending.
But apart from that, I loved it to pieces. All the little romance bits and funny little side bits really made it for me. I want to watch it again. But I will probably stop about ep 17 this time!
* And then, because I was won over by the manly hotness of Kang Ji Hwan in Hong Gil Dong, I watched Exhibition of Fireworks. Honestly, most annoying drama ever. Well, at least since Last Friends. It was ridiculously melodramatic and the annoying characters were so annoying and it made me want to brain myself with a rock, basically. But then, I did mainline it in like two days, and Kang Ji Hwan took his shirt off, so it had redeeming qualities.
* Also, if I ever need to buy a toupee, I totally want to take Sakurai Sho with me.
30-Day Arashi Challenge (which is actually going to take me several months XP)
day 14 - A dream you had with Arashi/member, in great detail
Well, the last one that I remember, I was at Tokyo Dome watching Arashi, and they were doing "Attack It", but for some reason Sho wasn't there. (I think he'd lost his will to rap.) So my sister had to take over for him and wear his outfit and everything, you know the red coat with the spots on it?? Except she didn't know all the words, so she was just rapping the words of Super Fresh instead. I had an awesome seat, I think I was actually on one of the moving platforms.
I have no idea wtf this could possibly mean.
day 15 - Favorite Arashi Quote (except from songs)
Conclusion: Blender. Dangerous. Boy. (From the A no Arashi where Aiba was blending up all sorts of concoctions and making them drink it, but I guess that's probably obvious.)
day 16 - A Nino picture you can’t take your eyes off
Well, obviously it's Nino, so there can't be just one!!
#5. Hair + biting + shoulders = hot Nino

#4. Bit blurry + goofy looking angle = pretty Nino

#3. Collar bones + mole + nice hair + pleather = I am thinking about Dragon Quest and don't really care about your questions Nino

#2. Pikanchi Double hair + perfect skin + shiny eyes = I could kill you and dump your body in Tokyo Bay and you'd still want to sleep with me Nino

#1. Slightly androgynous + lying down + perfectly groomed = why would you care about what I've written here when you could look at Nino Nino

Ah, I need food and my nephew ate all the mac & cheese.
ETA: Also, yesterday I bought a hat shaped like a strawberry. It is the greatest thing ever.

Date: 2010-06-09 11:32 pm (UTC)I like the third Nino picture you posted - I enjoy his inquisitive look! Someday, though, someone has to explain to me why so many people consider the first picture to be "hot". ^^" Whenever I see it, I get the overwhelming urge to feed the poor boy, since he's obviously hungry enough to eat his own shirt...

Date: 2010-06-09 11:39 pm (UTC)I think it's the combination of hair and shoulders that I like about that picture. I have a theory that Nino only ever really eats corn products though (Tongari Corn, Soup de Okage, etc), so maybe his shirt is made of corn!!!

Date: 2010-06-10 12:30 am (UTC)I've never had a sex-dream about anyone either! ...Though I'm asexual (= not sexually interested in anyone and no sex-drive either), so I'm not sure whether that's exactly normal...? But really, I kind of prefer NOT having those kinds of dreams to having the kind of detailed dreams that those girls described. I mean - wouldn't it be seriously awkward to go to a concert of someone when just the night before, you dreamed about him going down on you in all details? O_o
Nino only eating corn products would explain why he practically never eats anything on their shows! Perhaps the corn-shirt is his manager's attempt to feed him more regularly? XD

Date: 2010-06-10 01:48 pm (UTC)I feel like that there is about a 70% chance of that Nino showing up in any interview. ^^ My favorite Arashi quote ever in print was in an interview where Nino was rambling on in an involved story about trying to hook up his Playstation and finding a praying mantis behind his TV and right at the end he says: "Oh. What were we talking about? Love... was it?" I hope he never changes. ♥

I love your Nino pictures. Especially #5, but he looks WONDERFUL in #3. His hair is awesome in that picture.
