* I have to go to a party tonight with a bunch of people I don't like so much. It's going to be loads of fun.
* I woke up this morning to find a print of out Sam & Dean taped to my door. They are sitting by the lake from Dead in the Water and Sam has a speech bubble that says 'Your sister has gone to the gym' and Dean is saying 'When she gets back she wants to watch the episode again' and then Sam says MANDROID!
*
jetsam_porridge tagged me for a meme about fifteen years ago, and I am doing it now.
List seven songs that you currently love. It doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions, the artists, and the songs in your blog. Then tag seven other LiveJournal friends to see what they're listening to.
* I'm uploading the songs because I'm awesome like that, so I'll put it under a cut.
*
1. Wolf Parade - You Are a Runner and I am my Father's Son I can't remember where I first heard this song, I think it was on a wincest playlist or something and I just fell in love with it. I have the whole album and it's awesome. I want to marry this song. It's good writing music.
2.
seedyapartment - The Ballad of Jared and Jensen This song just makes me SO HAPPY OMG! Even thinking about this song makes me smile. (Again with the 'it's funny because it's true!')
3. John Mayer - Slow Dancing in a Burning Room This is so not my usual type of music, I'm not so much a fan of John Mayer or those other guys who sound just like him, but this song, it's just so sad! But an awesome sort of sad. It's an acoustic version and much better than the album one.
4. M. Ward - Let's Dance Who doesn't love an ironical Bowie cover, honestly? And everything M. Ward touches is just gold. He played this when I saw him just before New Year and I died, like I actually died. As much as I love Bowie, I like the M. Ward version of it better, it's just kind of... not bleak, really but sort of hopeful in a sad way, I guess. If you listen to M. Ward at all, you'll know what I mean.
5. Augie March - One Crowded Hour I've had this song on repeat for about 6 months. Yay, Australian music! This is an acoustic version as well. This song, guh! It's maybe the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.
6. Guns 'n' Roses - November Rain Heh heh, so the whole spn thing has had me revisiting songs from my youth. Because I'm old. This song reminds me of Saturday mornings watching Rage and sneaking out of a Friday night to go drink Jim Beam with my friend Anna and this guy Shannon who was the hottest guy ever, maybe even hotter than Dean Winchester. Good times.
7. REO Speedwagon - Can't Fight this Feeling A couple of days ago I was driving to my nephew's house and there was a stationwagon and it's licence plate said REO. It was an REO SPEEDWAGON! Needless to say I had to lean out the window as we passed them to yell 'REO ROCKS!' Damn, this song is catchy.
LOLZ, all of these songs remind me of Supernatural in some way or another.

* Do you think I really need to get out of my pyjamas to go to this party? and would it be offensive to take my laptop so that I can rewatch 'Night Shifter' instead of talking to people?
* The guy who is having the party just called us to say to hurry up because he has awesome party snacks, so I guess I'd better get dressed.

Date: 2007-01-28 10:39 am (UTC)Do you like Wolf Parade? I actually like the album as a whole more than just individual songs from it, and when I first listened to it, I thought 'I bet Lucy would like this'.
And because you commented, I am going to meme you up. (That sounds wrong.)
1. I friended you because you were awesome and made me laugh. And because you were (and still are) one of my favourite people from G&H.
2. The song I most associate with you is 'First Day of my Life' because it was the first of the Bright Eyes songs you told me to listen to and it kind of changed my life. <333
3. You are awesome.
4. I remember that I'd read this fic of yours that I really loved, but I didn't realise it was you and then we were chatting one day and you sent me a link to the same fic and I realised who you were and I felt a bit fangirlish :P
5. Cherries. Don't ask me why though.
6. I can't decide which icon I like better between

Date: 2007-01-28 05:51 pm (UTC)Meme me up, Scotty! The same goes for you, with regards to #1, since you're one of the few G&Hers I actually still talk to (in these strange, post-fangirly days). I'm glad you liked FDomL - it changed mine too, and sharing the love is intense. Lolz and yay at fangirling! And cherries are mmm. I spent about a month one summer a few years ago winning cherry-stone-spitting contests and eating Smarties (before they took away all the colourings...and the blue ones). It was simpler times.
So much love for you! ♥

Date: 2007-01-29 09:39 am (UTC)Incidentally, I was on my last.fm profile the other day and noticed that you were suddenly my closest musical neighbour, which made me chuckle, as you have the most awesome taste in music ever. So I friended you on there, just so you know.

Date: 2007-01-28 10:23 am (UTC)2. I associate you with... dude, this is hard (and it would totally be cheating to say HP, wouldn't it?)... Maybe 'Kung-fu Fighting' by Carl Douglas. Yes, that fits perfectly :P
3. You go crazy on the candy orange slices. Good crazy.
4. Mainly I just remember the marathon chats with you and Meg on Y!M and I'd be up for three days at a time and we'd all be kind of crazy and then I would feel sick and you would mother me and make me get some sleep and tell me other handy Molly Weasley-esque remedies for whatever was wrong with me that week. *loves you*
5. A wolf, of course!
6. I can't think of anything that I wouldn't have already asked you... um... who do you think would win in a fight between Colin Firth and Sir Edward Pellew. I'm talking fisticuffs here, no weapons or anything.
7.

Date: 2007-01-29 03:08 am (UTC)As beautiful as Colin really is, I think my money would have to be on the manly Pellew. I mean, let's just consider for a moment. Yes, I know Colin was all fencing out his frustrations and stuff in Pride and Predjudice, but Pellew seriously took control of that duel Horatio had so unwisely gotten himself into. How excellent was that? So, yeah. For sheer grace and refinement, Colin is your man. For ballsiness and smack-down ability, it is going to have to be Pellew.
And, erm, Kung Fu Fighting? Whoa. That, I would not have guessed. *snerk*

Date: 2007-01-29 08:55 am (UTC)I would be a manly, sweaty fight. Possibly taking place in mud. With flowy white shirts. It would be awesome.
Totally Kung-fu Fighting. :P
