Deathly Hallows.

Well, I have to say that for the last however many years I have been expecting to get hit by a bus or something about five minutes after I buy my book, so the fact that didn't happen meant the day was a huge plus from the get-go.
*Poor Crabbe, he's gone to that big cake shop in the sky. Rock on, buddy.
*My brain has stopped working and I'm having trouble with teh words.
*If I had control of teh words though, I would write many articulate pages about the awesome of Ron Weasley. With his being charming to girls and his heartbreaking insecurity while being horcruxy and his saving Harry with wet hugs and killing the horcrux and snogging Hermione in times of war and remembering the Parseltongue to break into the Chamber of Secrets and EVERYTHING! There is nothing Ron could do that wouldn't be awesome because he is the Awesome King of Awesomeland (with a side of awesome).
*Clearly, McGonagall is shagging Oliver Wood. Nothing will ever convince me otherwise. Just saying.
*Also, McGonagall freaking rules.
*I was destroyed when Fred died. Totally destroyed. I had to put the book down for a full ten minutes before I could go on. And Percy! OMG, Percy had just come back and he was all jokey and I had a brief minute where I thought how cool it would be if Percy worked at the joke shop with them and stuff, but then it wasn't cool at all, and Fred couldn't go around making lame puns to cheer George up about him being dead like when George lost his ear, because he was dead and there were no more chuckles.
*All the Aberforth/Goats stuff was very much LOLZ.
*Neville was also awesome. I may have got a little sniffly about how brave and all that he was being, which I fully blame on
coffee_n_cocoa. When he pulled the sword out of the hat and beheaded Nagini with it, my main thought was how proud she must've been!
*Molly Weasley also FREAKING RULES OMG. She swore! And then freaking PWND Bellatrix (who honestly didn't live up to the expectations of awesome I had for her) and that was all THE MOST AWESOME THING TO EVER AWESOME OMG.
*Much LOLZ also @ Krum being grumpy that he couldn't even pull chicks when he's a famous Quidditch player. IT'S BECAUSE YOU WALK LIKE A DUCK, BUDDY.
*Golly, I just couldn't stop crying through this book. In my own defense, I've only had 8 hours sleep out of the past 60, but still. And it was the last one, which is just sad. I even got weepy over the freaking dedication. But golly if the death of Dobby didn't set me off like a crazy person. And I didn't even like Dobby that much, but golly, when Ron took off his socks to put on Dobby's feet, I was a mess!
*Dudley. Big D. What a champ.
*Notice how I haven't mentioned Remus dying? Never happened. (But golly,
sandy_phoenix, I am so sorry! *huggles*)
*The plan to break into Gringotts was like the dumbest plan ever. Couldn't they just have polyjuiced into somebody unimportant and then hexed the goblin in the cart, like they had to anyway? And couldn't they have just laid out specific terms with Griphook, like 'you have have the sword after the dark lord is defeated'.
*So much love for Luna.
*OMG, Trelawney dropping crystal balls on Death Eater's heads was FREAKING PRICELESS!
*I thought my heart was broken into itty bitty pieces after Fred dying and then Remus definitely not dying but just pretending, but then Snape went and took those itty bitty pieces and SMASHED THEM UP WITH A MALLET OMG. I mean, I wasn't expecting the whole Lily thing just because it had been talked about in fandom so much and I actually thought JKR had once said something about it not being true, so it was a surprise just because it was one of those things that was out there but you never think will really happen. Like with Harry actually being a horcrux. But it was really well done, Snape giving Harry his memories and all that. And Snape was 'that boy', who had mentioned the Dementors and all that, when you just assumed it was James, I liked that touch. And the Petunia stuff was sad too, seeing how close the sisters were and all that. But golly. Snape. What a marshmallow.
*Did I mention Ron was awesome?
*I loved the stuff at Malfoy Manor. I loved all the Malfoy stuff, really. I loved that in the end, Lucius was ineffectual and it was Narcissa and Draco who did much of anything. And I loved how even though they were an evil family and all that, they really loved each other. Which I think got the point of the whole series across better than Dumbledore's handy exposition in the dead!train station, because I was a bit spent by that stage and all his waffle about spells and whatever was a bit much for my brain at that point, but seeing how an evil family of evilness can be not-all-that-evil because they love each other did the job much prettier. I also loved Harry saving Draco on the broom. And Harry playing with Draco's wand all the time OMG
*Grindelwald was freaking sexass, man.
*Seriously though, Harry. I know you're awesome and just came back from the dead and everything, but you're NOT an evil mastermind and therefore shouldn't be relaying all the information you have to your arch-foe just before you plan to off him. Lucky for you, Voldie was a bit of a spazz and didn't just punch you in the face or something. Still, I guess you earned telling a hall full of people about the many ways you're awesome. Because you are pretty awesome.
*I'd like to live in Bill and Fleur's cottage.
*Harry was very brave, wasn't he. I mean, I know that's obvious, but I was filled with much love for him when he just accepted what he had to do and got on with it. I was pretty much a blubbering mess at that point and I was just reading it from my comfy couch. I was very proud of him.
*I liked the epilogue, I was glad things got wrapped up neatly, though I would've liked more before that, about the aftermath of the war and everything. And I really want to know who the woman with Draco was, and what Harry did for a living (I assume he decided not to go into the Auror business after all) and what happened to Luna and stuff, though I guess we need some scope for fic left. But Harry deserved his happy ending, surrounded by a family at last and I'm very glad he got it. And Ron too. Because he's awesome.
*There are probably other things I wanted to say too, but have forgotten. Probably a good thing as this post is almost as long as the book was. I think I'm going to go now and pass out for about 40 hours.
Oh, my football team won too. Awesome.
