antpowerArg, LJ! I tried to do the right thing and post last night and catch up with my flist and then LJ DIED!! Did this happen to anyone else, or was it a purely Ant-isolated tragedy??
You know when you don't post for ages, so you have heaps of things to post about, but because you have BIG and IMPORTANT things to post about, all the little details that generally make posts interesting tend to get lost? This is probably going to be one of those posts. I suck, I know.
I'm leaving for Japan in 20 hours!! Therefore, expect me to be more fail at LJ than usual. But for much more awesome reasons.
Of course, in typical Antish fashion, two days ago I got the worst son-of-a-bitching toothache in the history of the world. I kind of hoped it would go away, but it hasn't. It is so painful that I kind of want to die. But I won't, because that would be really stupid with only 20 hours left until Japan, so instead I'm going to have to spend this morning at the dentist, instead of doing the 5000 other better things I have to do before I go away. I took so many painkillers over the weekend that the world started to look a bit like that part of the Kitto Daijoubu PV where they do the funky jazz dance. It was surprisingly not as awesome as you'd expect.
I've pretty much given up on believing I'll get Korea tickets. Actually, I think I've given up on believing in Korea at all. Yes, it's a fake country that people just made up so they had somewhere to set episodes of MASH!! And so that people who can't read Korean (also a fake language) feel depressed about not getting tickets to see Arashi in Korea! (Because they don't realise Korea is a fake country and therefore Arashi can't really do shows there.) This makes me feel a whole lot better!! Though, quite frankly every time I see this...
... a little part of my soul-soul dies.
I haven't posted about Ryusei no Kizuna yet. I would like to make a really in depth post full of hilarious commentary about it, but it's crazy early and I have to do the dentist thing, so instead I shall make a short and random post about it.
I think little!Koichi only got the gig because he has the same chin mole as Nino. He doesn't really resemble Nino at all in any other way. And he's taller than Nino is now. Maybe Nino was shrunk by emo??? Little!Ryo is adorable though.
Nino looks very pretty in the opening titles. I swear, I'm not shallow, I just really like looking at pretty people. Especially Nino. To go off slightly on a tangent, I have this constant battle for ichiban in my head between Nino and Ohno (and lately, sometimes Aiba), and but for the fact I don't want to be one of those people who switches their favourite to whoever is popular at the time, it would probably be Nino. And also because of, you know, Riida being the most awesome person ever.
Anyway...
So, I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think the murder has something to do with Hayashi Rice. I think the father stole the recipe and the killer, in a shocking twist, was actually getting revenge himself. Cheekbones!guy-who-loves-Hayashi-Rice is clearly the key. I don't know how yet, but I think it has something to do with his incredibly sharp cheekbones. LOL, I will freak out if this actually happens now!
The post-it bit? And Nino's faces? And... well all of it really is total win. And I love the LETTERS FROM CANADA and the RABBIT and the HOST GUY and RYO AND TODA ERIKA FREAKING OUT AT NINO'S CREEPINESS, and mostly NINO'S GOOFY FACES!! And Nino's smug "I am an evil genius" face!
I am totally shipping Ryo/Toda in this show. It's okay because they're not really related.
I like her much more in this than I normally do. I mean, I have nothing against her personally, she just usually plays characters that bug me, like the-girlfriend-who-didn't-realise-Kame-was-totally-gay-for-Yamapi in Nobuta, and the they-should've-just-finished-Hanadan-a-few-eps-earlier-and-cut-out-that-totally-stupid-amnesia-plotline-fake!cookies-girl in Hanadan, and you know, Code Blue. But anyway, I really like Shizuna. I loved the bit where she had the slutty make-up and Nino didn't recognise her.
Nino saying "Nile River"!!!! <33333333 Nino's face!!! It reminds me of that clip - was it from the making of "One" or something? Where Riida randomly says "government" because Nino tells him to say something funny. <33333
I seriously love Nino's character in this show. Not just because he's pretty and randomly hilarious, but also because he stayed up all night to make Cheekbones the Hayashi Rice and he couldn't lie to his little sister about what happened to his parents, and because he's so damaged but in a completely real way, and because he hasn't had a girlfriend since mobile phones became popular. I really like all the characters, but I think there's something about Koichi that's especially awesome. And I thought Ariake 3 was a great name!! His little sticker things - omg! How can he be so cute and so dark at the same time???
I also love that the curry house randomly has "George Clooney" written on the wall - wtf???
Also? Post-it Guy is freaking hilarious.
Conclusion: this show is awesome!!!

Also? This is so adorable I'm sure it's illegal in some places on account of so much adorableness makes people's heads explode.
I know I had other things to say, mostly about the awesomeness of Nino and Aiba hunting UFO's, but I have to get this dentist thing sorted. Arg, the last thing in the world I want to do is spend money on my teeth!! Especially with the Australian dollar at like 57 yen!! But anyway, have fun while I'm gone!!! <3333333333333

Toothaches are horrid and I hope the dentist fixes you right up. The last time I had a sudden and desperate toothache like that was ONE WEEK before my WEDDING thank you very much. How annoying. It was something odd about one of my wisdom teeth and resulted in MASSIVE antibiotics, an extraction and my wedding dress being too large. 'Twas a mess.
You will, of course, be making a full report on EVERYTHING upon your return.

RyK...hasn't sold me totally yet but I love all the things that you mentioned too! Especially Koichi. He's such a disturbed little man but it's just boiling under the surface and I'm kind of waiting for it to bubble up and over. I felt for him so hard over the Hayashi Rice and the Ariake 3. >_< Plus, Nino's faces. Nino's faces.

BTW, I think you're confusing Toda with Gakki. xD Toda wasn't in Nobuta, Gakki was. Well, I don't blame you, they both look the same to me too. lol
Oh, and I'm totally with you on the whole "I have a constant battle for ichiban in my head" thing. That's why I find those "Whose your ichiban?" polls so annoying. I can't decide whether it's Aibachi or Ohno-kun! I think it depends on my mood most of the time. xDD
