I am seriously distressed. I keep thinking that if only he'd sat out the second half instead of playing on, the dammage might not have been so significant. But then, what do I know? The rupture might have occured right away and playing on might not have made any difference.
*whimpers*
And if we are sad and disconsolate, think what it must be for Lenny? He's bummed AND his knee hurts like hell.
Apparently the playing on didn't affect the injury, it was instant. The doctors said he could play on for the rest of the season but the knee could go at any time, so he opted to have the surgery sooner rather than later. This way he can be back at the start of 2007 instead of in 12 months. It's apparently very rare for the AC ligament to tear without any other damage to the knee.
I want to send him baked goods. His operation is tomorrow. I am very sad for him. I think I would rather the team do badly and Lenny play than the team do well and Lenny not play. I must love him a lot!
He is going to be an assistant coach for the rest of the year. He will be very good at that.
I will stop going on about it now.
