I've hardly been online for the past week because I've been very sick and bedridden. This has mostly been okay though, apart from the feeling horrid, because it meant I got to loll around watching Gokusen. I am now going to make a very intellectual post about Gokusen vs Hana Yori Dango (yes, I don't believe the intellectual bit either), even though they don't have all that much in common beside the INCREDIBLE PRETTINESS OF OGURI SHUN AND MATSUMOTO JUN!

Battle #1 Matsumoto Jun's hair
Seriously. I mean, I loved Domyouji, I thought he was ten sorts of awesome, and kind of pretty but not so much compared to Hanazawa Rui. BUT IN GOKUSEN I AM TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH HIM OMG!

It's the hair. It has to be the hair. I am totally smitten by it. It is long and shiny and has highlighty bits that own my soul. HIS SOULFULLY SAD LOOKS ARE SO MUCH MORE SOULFULLY SAD WITH THAT HAIR!!

I feel kind of bad for the curly-curly-perm hair by saying this though.

Battle #1: Gokusen wins!

This probably isn't fair, because Hanazawa Rui was seriously well-dressed. Even Itachi would've given him a five-star rating and that's like SUPER IMPOSSIBLE to achieve! But he just looked so tall and pretty and he wore SCARVES! OMG, HE LOOKED SO PRETTY IN HIS SCARVES!! AND NOT EVEN VERY GAY AT ALL, WHICH IS ALWAYS A RISK WHEN ACCESSORISING!!

I can hardly remember anything Uchi wore, though this may be the fault of Sawada's pretty hair. It was very distracting for me.

Battle #2: HYD wins!

Battle #3 Thwarted Love
Maybe not so much thwarted, but oh wells. BUT HOW COULD YANKUMI TEACH THEM ANYTHING WITH SAWADA GAZING AT HER SO SOULFULLY??? Maybe she waited until he was napping? BUT SERIOUSLY!! He was so awesome and always helping her out and BEING AWESOME!! I LOVED IT WHEN HE WAS HAVING DINNER WITH HER FAMILY AND THEY WERE FIGHTING OVER THE HOTPOT AND HE TOLD THEM TO STOP AND THEN THEY DID!!! HE SHOULD MARRY HER AND THEN HE CAN TAKE OVER THE FAMILY AND THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME!!

I thought it was all in my head, but then at the end when everyone was like "I will be your rival for Yankumi's love" and THEN SAWADA SAID IT TOO, I was VERY HAPPY!! But then they did nothing with it in the special thing, WHICH WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING! Also, how could Yankumi like stupid cop dude when he was STUPID and if he liked her HE SHOULD'VE SAID SOMETHING INSTEAD OF LEADING ALL HER FRIENDS ON AS WELL OMG! SAWADA IS LIKE SO MUCH MORE AWESOME TO THE POWER OF INFINITY!!!

And then there is Rui/Makino, which I knew wasn't ever going to happen because she was always meant to be with Domyouji BECAUSE THEY WERE FROM SATURN!! But I still wanted her to pick Rui because I LOVED HIM and it would be awesome for dramatic purposes, because then she would've had to have broken up with him to be with Domyouji, WHICH WOULD'VE BEEN MUCH BETTER THAN THAT WHOLE STUPID AMNESIA THING!!! Rui was always saving her!! He was awesome! Maybe it's better this way because Makino can be with Domyouji and I CAN MOVE TO HANA YORI DANGO LAND AND MARRY RUI!!! YES, THAT WORKS NICELY!

Battle #3: Gokusen wins.

Battle #4 Sensitive Boys
Rui plays the violin! And Domyouji masks his emo pain with awesome random violence!! And motorcycle guy has a LONG LOST LOVE who broke his heart and now he can't love anything but CUPS OF TEA!! And the other guy has a freaky family. Also, RUI PLAYS THE VIOLIN!! AND STARES OUT RAINY WINDOWS! THEY ARE ALL SENSITIVE AND ADORABLE!

BUT SAWADA LOVES HIS TEACHER!! AND HIS SISTER! AND HE ALWAYS STICKS UP FOR HIS FRIENDS AT ANY COST!!! AND HE HAS THE SENSITIVE SOULFUL EYES!!!

starfishdance, I think Sawada Shin should join our Sensitive Boys Club along with Rui and Itachi and Wu Zun!!

AND UCHI LOVES HIS MOTHER!! AND KUMA IS ADORABLY ADORABLE AND I WANT TO SQUISH HIM!! THEY ARE ALL SO SENSITIVE AND CUTE! LIKE IN THE GRADUATION SPECIAL WHEN HALF OF THE CLASS DIDN'T GET INTO UNIVERSITY AND SO THEY ALL CRIED TO THEIR MOMMAS AND THEN THEY WERE SAVED BY THE LOVE OF OGURI SHUN AND THEN THERE WERE AWESOME SPEECHES ABOUT YANKUMI AND THINGS, THAT WAS VERY, VERY ADORABLE OF THEM!!!

LOL, I've probably covered this, but I wanted to have five sections.

You know what makes F4 awesome?? EVERYTHING! They are the WORLD-FAMOUS F4!! They are stylishly dressed and have THEIR OWN SECTION OF THE SCHOOL CAFETERIA! WITH MASSIVE PICTURES OF THEMSELVES!! And like when Makino went to New York and her bag got stolen and then THEY GOT HER BAG BACK AND MADE THE WHOLE OF THE MAFIA FEAR HER OMG THAT IS SO AWESOME!! I want to be friends with F4 and have crazy fun times!!

You know what makes 3D awesome? Sawada's hair. Also, the lolz. But mostly the hair.

Battle #5: ~~Sawada's hair~~ F4!!!

RESULT: TIE!!! Yay, that's as it should be because they are both totally awesome!

LOL, I took a break midway through typing this post to go and buy THE MOST AWESOME SANDWICH EVER!! It was a toasted sandwich with bacon, swiss cheese, bococcini, onion and tomato relish. I wanted to marry it.

I am kind of disappointed by the spoilers for the new Naruto chapter. But I shall reserve judgment.

In other news, my housemate has gone INSANE! He is convinced someone broke into our house to MOVE WHERE THE LOCKS ARE PLACED ON THE DOORS! WTF? Also, he in convinced that a hobo is sleeping in the back bedroom. THERE IS NO HOBO, YOU CRAZY OLD MAN!!!

I love Shin! I love how smart he is and how he cares so much for his friends but doesn't want to show it and his small secret little smiles like he's smiling to himself and how cute he looks AND YES THE HAIR, OMG ALWAYS THE HAIR. I think his hair's very cute in Kindaichi too, though my friend says it makes him look like a Dragon Ball character BUT HE IS A VERY CUTE DRAGON BALL CHARACTER!

I think Uchi only ever wore his school uniform, I remember him mostly for his weird ponytailed hairstyles. BTW, Matsujun is so short that Oguri Shun looks like a freaking giant next to him!! Am I the only one who thought that??

YES, I LOVE HOW HE GOES TO HER HOUSE AND HAS DINNER LIKE ALL THE TIME!! HOW CAN SHE GO FOR THE POLICEMAN GUY WHEN SHE HAS SHIN? I MEAN, POLICEMAN GUY IS KIND OF HOT IN AN OLD GUY WAY BUT SHIN IS SHIN!!!!!

The amnesia thing is so dumb anyway. AND YES, SHIN CAN MOST DEFINITELY JOIN THE SENSITIVE BOYS CLUB! I loved how Uchi and the other guy WHO IS SHINJI FROM BATTLE ROYALE were carrying him then they laughed at the teacher who fell down and DROPPED HIM!!! IT WAS SO HILARIOUS!

Yes, exactly what you said!! I love it in the bit when they are cheerleading and Yankumi comes out in the cheerleading outfit and he has to turn to the wall because he can't stop his smile! THAT IS SO INCREDIBLY CUTE OF HIM!!! And I love how he just supports Yankumi without actually saying anything about it. THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT HIM THAT IS NOT AWESOME!!!

LOL, I remember one part when Uchi had this girly headband thing on. HE CLEARLY BORROWED IT FROM HIS MOTHER!! He is pretty tall though, hey. It is so cute that Matsumoto Jun is so short. YOU COULD FOLD HIM UP AND PUT HIM IN YOUR POCKET!!

OMG YES, I LOVED THAT PART! I think it was the episode where they were searching for the Uchi-lookalike robber, and that was the first time we got to see him smile and I was like AAAAHH *___* ♥!! All the cheerleading things are hilarious, there was also that cheerleading part in Hana Kimi where they danced to GIRLFRIEND and I kind of died!! SHIN IS THE MOST AWESOME CHARACTER EVER!!

HAHA YEAH!! And I think you mentioned this already but it is SO SWEET how Uchi loves his mother so much!! Although my only problem with this show is that Shin is supposed to be really good at fighting so WHY DOES HE GET BEATEN UP SO MUCH?? And Yankumi always has to save him! Btw, do you realise that MATSUJUN GETS BEATEN UP IN EVERY SHOW HE'S IN??? I think they're trying to pull the "OMG THE POOR PRETTY BOY~" card!

I think from manga, anime and jdrama versions of Gokusen, I love manga the most. Jdrama was a bit too silly at times and anime had this stupid dog.

But here are the real reasons to love the manga.
1) Shin's feelings are canon. He even admitted it when his friends asked about it.
2) His friends keep trying to find ways to get them together. They locked them in a classroom once.
3) Once Yankumi dressed up as highschool girl and they walked holding hands. (Okay, it happened for all the wrong reasons, but still.)
4) Manga's version of Shinohara is much more likable. And he's not a policeman, he's a yakuza lawyer.
5) Due to misunderstanding the other yakuza gangs think that Shin is to be the next leader.

shinkumi last night!!! I started reading fic, and so far it all seems awesome! They are so totally adorable together!! I might have a fic binge over the weekend!!!

I haven't watched Kimi wa Petto yet, but I plan to! I also want to watch Kindaichi. I have such a busy watching schedule!!!

It's complete in Japan, but only scanlated up to vol 10.

shinkumi had some untranslated chapters up though. Now that I checked, I noticed there are a few chapters up I haven't read yet. Yey!

The manga is so different from jdrama! Do you plan to watch Gokusen 2? I stopped after a few episodes. Yankumi has totally different class there. It has Kamenashi Kazuya.

I had my Gokusen period about 1,5 years ago, but the fandom was too small to last for long. :(

Actually, I'm quite okay with the spoilers for Naruto, but I though it'd be a little more epic. Meh, time for NARUTO TO JUMP IN! (Or maybe Kishi just needs to go on to that Suigetsu/Kisame fight, and also the Tobi/Naruto fight. Srsly, those have been postponed since forever.)

I'm sort of half-amused, half-freaked out, because crazy people are a little scary.

Yes, I totally thought it would be more epic!! That's why I'm disappointed. BUT MAYBE SOMETHING EPIC WILL STILL HAPPEN!!! Though, I'm kind of bored of fights now, so I hope the others are over fairly quickly. The Suigetsu/Kisame fight should be pretty awesome though!!

Yeah, there needs to be a highly emotional scene. OMG HOW CAN WE FORGET. JIRAIYA'S FUNERAL!!!!!!!

OMG, YES!! I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THAT WHOLE THING!! Though the funeral will probably be ages in coming because EVERYONE IS BUSY FIGHTING!!!

I hope Tobi just goes, "Nah, just joking!" And disappears so that's one fight over. And then Kisame realises that his job is done since he killed Itachi with his death note, and he just leaves Suigetsu so another fight is over. And then we can all go back to Tsunade angsting over Jiraiya's death and we learn some really important information about Pein. (Yes we've all forgotten about him.) Hmmm, and then Naruto goes back and goes, "Shit, Sasuke! If Itachi is gone, I need to go get Sasuke naaaaooo!" And then Naruto and Sasuke meet and they make up and do all kinds of fun things.

I think you should take over writing Naruto, because that is clearly what should happen!!! Then Naruto and Sasuke can just have random wacky adventures together and that stop angsting for a little while!!!

Yeah! And half way through, Kabuto shows up and they have to get into a raging battle! And then like in Sai's little book, they have to fight all kinds of villains until they get to the middle of the page and have a fun spar. =D

I have to say, I was browsing through your icons for that icon meme and noticed "Gokusen" popping up a lot and wondered what that was--so I went to Wiki it and then found the manga and read all the scanlated parts I could find. And I haven't been able to find the last 5 volumes or so scanlated. DDD: And I watched the first two episodes of the jdrama--I have to say I like the manga more. Shin is, um, really adorable in an awkward kind of way. I think I like Gokusen more than Hana Kimi and Hana Yori Dango because Yamaguchi is so awesome (and even though Hana Kimi's cracky, that's just b/c of the jdrama, and I skipped around HYD and stopped watching the jdrama because despite how pretty the boys look, I simply couldn't take them anymore. I would've beat Domyouji out of the school or something. >_>) And like

fujiko1601 says, Shinohara is a yakuza lawyer in the manga and much more likeable. Although I'd still ship Shin/Yankumi, because Shin is made of so much awesome and they understand each other so well. :D

Gokusen is very awesome, isn't it!! I am kind of smitten with Shin! And Shinkumi is probably the most adorable thing ever. You're right, they do understand each other so well, and they're always there for each other. I love it!!
