I hope this chapter cheers me up, because I've been awfully depressed since I watched episode 25 and I'm sure it's not the weather or the fact that I've been staying up too late reading L/Light fic. It's totally the grief!!

You'd think that even if they couldn't announce that Light was Kira, they would've told people that Kira was dead. But I guess, I'm not a genius of deductive reasoning.

That's the freaking hugest card tower I've ever seen. He still has his L finger puppet. He clearly didn't get that psychological help I advised. Oh, he sort of has a grudging respect for Light, doesn't he. I don't know why that endears him to me more than his L obsession, but it does a bit. I like how his opinion about it is the opposite of Matsuda's. Cheap-Kira, lol.

Dude, he's only talked to L once and he's this obsessed? I guess I can't judge.

OOOH, L FLASHBACK! He describes himself in a very detrimental way, doesn't he. I guess it's accurate, though I would've also added 'awesome', 'adorable' and other things of that nature.

I feel a little cheated by how we didn't actually get to find out who cheap-Kira is! What kind of ending is having him top himself and NOT REVEALING HIS IDENTITY??? Though the flashback of Raito is much awww-ness!!

Yeah, I was expecting cheap-Kira to be like Raito's sister or something, you know? But really it was more of a 'where are they now' kind of thing. The flashbacks made me very happy, even the flashbacks of deadedness!

Yeah! It'd have been so much cooler if there was some kind of major plot twist at the end, a huge shock or something like that. But yes, any glimpse of Raito is a Very Good Thing! Even dead!Raito. D:

It would be like 132 hours long! (Even if the anime isn't that long, IT DOESN'T MATTER!) It would be the prettiest thing on the whole internets!

I could think a few reasons for not telling people that Kira is dead.
1) People would make a martyr out of him.
2) They would rather have Kira disappoint his fans by not acting.
3) Somebody would try to take Kira's place. Which happened anyway, but a lot later.
4) Criminals would have a field day after Kira's death.
On the other hand sometimes it's hard to see the supposed genius in their thought process.

Now it's 82% certain there is a shinigami gene making them addicted to apples. Theory that it was Ryuuk's personal quirk is thus dropped.

Near and his card towers reminded me a spider in his web. He really does take his job description too seriously.

And now I want to know what Ryuuk did with his extra death notes.

Yeah, your reasoning makes total sense. Though, in a way it seems a little like condoning his actions in a way, in that by not acknowledging his death as a way to keep order they're admitting that he was keeping order. Which he was.

LOL, yeah like ADMITTING YOUR VICTORY BEFORE YOU'RE 100% SURE OF IT, that wasn't exactly a stroke of genius on Light's part!!

What I want to know is how Near could have L finger-puppets when he'd apparently never seen his face!!

Maybe after he's death it was OK to see some pictures? Or somebody, who had seen L, did them for him. That is the real mystery of the series. :)
